No-exam life insurance
Learn who is eligible, what the process looks like, and what happens if you do not qualify.
Several carriers have rolled out accelerated underwriting: within certain ages and coverage amounts, they issue decisions based on your application, pharmacy records, driving reports, and similar information, bypassing the need for a physical exam. A determination can arrive within hours. Every rate you see on this site indicates whether an exam is required, optional, or unnecessary.
What it changes
No exam does not equal no scrutiny. Every answer you provide is investigated, and any policy issued based on false statements can be voided within the first two years. If the carrier's records flag concerns, they may still request an exam or lab tests; at that stage you choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, those below about 60 years old, seeking coverage within the carrier's no-exam thresholds, with no significant medical conditions and no tobacco use in the past year or longer. Several carriers will use bloodwork from a recent checkup instead of ordering new test results.
Should an exam be necessary, it is typically a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a nurse or technician at your residence or workplace in the Ridgecrest area; you pay nothing. For applicants in strong health, the exam findings can lead to a better rate classification, so it is not inherently unfavorable.
